History

DME Corporation was founded in 1976 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and was acquired by Astronics Corporation in 2009 and later renamed Astronics DME.

Astronics DME has designed and delivered state-of-the-art aviation safety products for 40 years.  These aviation products, including emergency flashlights, emergency locator transmitters, escape slide lighting, and survival and first aid kits, are used by aircraft manufacturers and operators globally.

Additionally, Astronics DME formerly served as a premier supplier of airfield lighting products for the FAA and airports around the world. This product line was sold to Hughey and Philips in 2019.

All Astronics DME products are proudly designed and manufactured in the USA.
