Molding Capabilities
Our tooling and manufacturing engineers provide consulting expertise in part design, material selection, design for manufacturing, and tool selection. The result is higher yields, lower material consumption, cycle time optimization, better flow control, and no surface flaws, thus reducing overall costs.
Astronics plastic injection molding products come in a wide range of highly engineered materials, including high-glass and carbon-filled content, and additives for lubrication such as PTFE or MOS2. All are commonly available in flame-retardant grades. Additional modifiers include colorants/dyes, talc, and RF shielding additives.
Astronics can produce parts for plastic injection molding ranging in size from a couple ounces to almost four pounds.
